 La Excelencia's first CD got a great response, epitomised with their anthem 'En La Lucha', and they don't disappoint with this release. They really have stepped up and delivered something special in this follow up, 'Mi Tumbao Social'. Retaining the rawness and unique sound of the previous release, this CD is more DJ and dancefloor friendly, and screams quality.
The selection opens with 'Salsa Dura', with the background sounds of El Barrio as its intro, and you know the boys from New York are back! Particular dancefloor friendly tracks come in the form of 'Por Tu Traicion (Salsa Version)', 'Ahora Que Te Tengo Aqui', and 'Caminando'.
To top it all off, you also get a nice Cha-Cha in the form of 'American Sueno', a bolero version of 'Por Tu Traicion', as well as some fantastic percussive solos on 'Duelo de Bongo'.
The overall production and musicianship is top-notch.... a definite must-have in your collection!!
And... if you ever get a chance to see this band live, don't miss it, as they have an explosive presence on stage to match that coming from the music!!!
