Choosing your favourite tracks is an ever changing thing - what gets you going one month can be worn to death by the next - so here are my 3 main tracks at the present... just to give you a taster....
1. Fabricando Fantasias - Tito Nieves From time to time we all need a romantic whirl around the floor - and this tune provides the soundtrack to a loving, eye to eye, hip to hip dance. Although it is a tune from Puerto Rican Day Parade's Allstars in 2005, it still provides a comfortable warm-up and wind down to a night of dancing.
2. You Don't - My Jkool meet Dago Cross This is a track from the third volume of Salsa.it compilations that bring new Salsa, Merengue, Bacahata and Reggaeton to the international listener. You Don't is a lively English vocal Salsaton track - mixing the best of both genres in a fluid and upbeat melody. Good percussive beats and samples makes this a very enjoyable track.
3. Yo Me Voy / Maggie's Pancakes I was first introduced to Salsa Celtica when they came to Northern Ireland to perform at a festival here - and they impressed the audience no end. This track sums up why they are a favourite of mine and the Irish in general - two of the best styles of dancing are mixed in this amalgamation of Salsa and Irish music and movement. An absolute treat for those who's shines extend into the fancy footwork of the 'diddlydee' and a fast workout for the rest of us! Love it!
