Mel (aka Mel C, DJ Melody)
Main SC Responsibilities: General Website Management, and Salsa Central Parties.

Director of Carpe Diem Dance Company & Co-Founder of Salsa Central and Salsurban .
Salsa Central started off as an idea to provide information to the salsa community about events and music. It has since grown, no, exploded, into so much more! My vision for Salsa Central is to make it as informative and entertaining as possible. Oh, and to be the best d*amn Salsa Site out there!

Jojo (aka Jojo)
Main SC Responsibilities: News, Reviews, and Interviews.

Member of the Candela Crew, complete Salsaholic and member of Salsa Central Team.
“I was introduced to salsa in 1999 and have not looked back since – I can barely remember what pre-salsa life was like!  I was first taught to dance by Liz Walmsley, Founder of Club Candela and I have been a member of the Candela Crew for the last 5-6 years.  The Salsa Central concept is very exciting and I am very pleased to have been asked to be a part of it”.

Norman (aka Sizzla)
Main SC Responsibilities: Music related News, Reviews, and Interviews. Resident DJ.

Founder of LatynVybz , Sizzla runs Wednesdays at the Wharf in Walsall, one of the Midlands longest running nights. He's also an established Congress DJ.

Steve (aka Torqueo)
Main SC Responsibilities: General Site Management, Design, Music Reviews, Charts & Playlists.

Director of Torqueo Ltd, Webmaster & Co-Founder of Salsa Central and Salsurban .
"I was into hip-hop when I was at school and started DJ'ing that when I was 13 with my best mate Pritt, who's now producing Hip-Hop producer beat-battles on film under the guise of King Of The Beats .
I then went through a stage of Dj'ing House music, played a set on radio 1's Essential Mix in 96, and spent a few years DJ'ing across the UK, including Cream, Ministry Of Sounds, Creamfields, Gatecrasher, etc. After a while, I moved on to DJ'ing funk, breaks and hip-hop in bars, then moved to London in 1999.
Moved back to the midlands a few years later and got involved in the Nu-Skratch project, helped build the website and did the DVD Production on Turntable Trixters, a documentary about the old UK Hip-Hop group, Hijack, who got signed to Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate label. The film ended up being shown at the National Film Theatre in London, in 2006.
I met Mel in 2005 and was introduced to Salsa - I already knew the music from my DJ'ing days, and have a small collection of latin vinyl which I used to play out, albeit not to the Salsa crowd. I was blown away by the Salsa social scene, and have been progressing (very) slowly with my dancing since.
