Salsa Central Party, Birmingham Print E-mail
Written by Louise Turner
Saturday, 23 February 2008
The Salsa Central Parties are held at The Portland Road Pavilion, Portland Road, Edgbaston, Birmimgham B17 8LS.  Entrance was £6 for class and/or club.

The party I went to was on the 9th February 2008 and was the first time I had been to an event hosted by Salsa Central. I had gone alone but met with friends later. I was a little apprehensive as I didn't know anybody when I arrived, but I didn't have to worry. I was made welcome by all.

The Pavilion is a great venue, with good, free on-site parking, and it was easy to find.

On a downside the parque dancefloor had a couple of bad patches that needed sorting out, and it was a little too hot to begin with until they turned off the heating.

On a plus though the bar is in another room, where the staff were very friendly and the prices good too.

The intermediate class with Nicky Lloyd-Greame of Salsaholics, Leeds was fun and challenging, but not so over complicated that you lost interest half way through. I even enjoyed the footwork/shines at the beginning (something I am not always enthused about).

I had a great night, danced to good music by DJ Torqueo, DJ Dennis and DJ Lubi, and made some new friends.

Thank you Salsa Central!
