descargaboricua_salseando.jpgThis is a 2 CD set, that comprises mostly of covers from the catalogues of Fania and other labels of a similar calibre. The personnel consists of some serious heavyweight artists, including Jimmy Bosch, and vocalists Frankie Vasquez, Adalberto Santiago, Ray Del La Paz, Herman Olivera, Tito Allen... the list goes on!!

The track lengths may cause a slight problem for DJ's.. only two track on the whole set are below 5 minutes! Not ideal, but nothing a bit of creative dj'ing or editing can't fix.

The music itself is very good, but just doesn't quite hit the mark that you'd expect with that quality of line-up. I was expecting something really special, but got the impression that the musicians were just going through the motions.

This album is definitely worth a purchase, however, and is a whole lot better than the majority of current releases. If you can get past some of the track lengths, then this would be a quality addition to any Salsa DJ's collection.
Personal favourites on this album are "El Swing", "Que Humanidad", and "Ahi Na'ma".

Length is good.

As a DJ, particularly a salsa Dj. I love the fact that the tracks are long. If you're spinning for a dancing crowd, or a salsa crowd for that matter, as long as the tracks are kicking, the length is not a problem....it's a good thing.
