DJ Lubi presents ‘Salsa Dura'

 Salsa Dura is the latest release from the ‘Serbian Sorcerer of Salsa’ DJ Lubi Jovanovic!
The CD starts with ‘Oscuridad’ a fast paced tune by veteran Johnny Polanco, accompanied by his LA Band ‘Cojunto Amistad’. This is a real lively tune, guaranteed to put those hard core salseros through their paces on the dance floor!
Next up is ‘No Cuentes’ by Santiago Allstars, a track I can only refer to as ‘Salsa Rapido’! The next track is an old favourite of mine, ‘El Embajador’ by the main man ‘Mr Jimmy Bosch’. Call me biased but Jimmy can do no wrong in my eyes, this track is timeless!
Lubi mixes it up by including a real electric jazz based track, ‘Atrevete’ by Bio Ritmo. I love the feeling that the Fender Rhodes keyboard gives to the track, it really funks it up for me, which is great!
Followed by dance floor fillers ‘Gozalo’ by ‘La 33’, ‘Me Voy Pala Rumba’ by ‘Grupo Latin Vibes’ and the ground breaking ‘La Lucha’ by La Excelencia’ the next track that really stood out for me was the ‘Our Latin Groove’ version of ‘Rumbon Melon’.
I really love the ‘Joey Pastrana’ version of this track but I think this version is a little more dance floor friendly, I liked it anyway!
Nice version of ‘Bailalo’ by ‘Snowboy & The Latin Section’, followed on by a bit of Salsa Clasica, ‘Esta Rumba’ by ‘Doble Jugarda’ and ‘Baila Con Swing Sabroso’ by ‘Ray Rodriguez y Swing Sabroso’.
Lubi finishes the cd off nicely with a wicked track by ‘Willie Villega y Entre Amigos’, titled ‘Inventamos’.
All in all, a solid, hard hitting CD, I am definitely recommending DJs to add their collections, sharpish!!
