nss_backonthestreets.jpgWe already have one review of this CD on the site from last year, but it seemed appropriate to add a fresh once since the album has only just been released after some long delays with their record label.

I was given a copy in NY last November by George Rodriguez, and it's since been pretty much a staple addition to my DJ sets. It's easily one of the best releases this year, and even if you think you've had enough of vibes-based Salsa give this one a chance as you may be surprised!

The album opens up with "Che Che", a cover of the Tito Rodriguez version (Buenas Noches Che Che) from his Doctor Salsa album. They really do justice to a classic. That's followed up by "Bobo Tu Te Quedaras" - one of my favourites.

The order of the songs is perfect - not just a collection of tracks, but a great listening experience in its own right, and Cheo Medina has one of the best voices currently in Salsa.

The production quality and mixdown are top-notch.

Personal favourites are; Che Che, Bobo Tu Te Quedaras, Sarandonga, and Monta Mi Cabillito….

An absolute essential for any Salsa DJ's!!
