These cds are samplers bringing you the Fania NuYorican sound as it was back in the day. If your taste in music is quite varied, but like the latin flavour, these three CDs are for you. The CDs cover Boogaloo, Classic Salsa, latin Jazz, Latin soul, Descarga etc. Featuring the Fania heavyweights: Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe, Willie Rosario, Joe Bataan, and Joe Cuba to name a few.
The collection gives you a snapshot of the hard and heavy latin music of this period. Some are fantastic dance tracks: Periodico de Ayer, Ne Ne, Last Tango in Paris, The Hustler, El Todopoderoso, Consolacion etc. While some are not danceable, they are good on the ear.
The samplers give you are taste of current and pending re-mastered releases from the Fania collection. In the near future there will be more Fania releases from artists on this sampler collection. This is a great chance to start the collection folks.
