 The latest compilation from DJ El Chino, titled Los Dinosaurios, is a collection of some heavyweight hardcore Salsa and Mambo gems.
The Cd opens with the steady 'Guaguanco Del Solar' from Bush Y Su Nuevo Sonido, with it's low key intro followed by some great horns and heavy percussion, the perfect tempo for dancers. This is followed by Rafael Labasta's take on Tito Rodriguez's 'La Toalla', another solid, mid-tempo tune from the guy did the version of Sun Sun Babae that's doing the rounds at the moment.
The album continues in this rich vein of form, with the inclusion of one of my favourite Salsa Tracks, David Cedeno's 'Salsa Na Ma' being a particular highlight.
Other highlights on this CD include Orq Amplicacion's 'Estas En Algo', which i've dropped a few times already, and Sonia Lopez' 'Apprendelo Como Yo'
The sound quality varies at times, but that's the price you have to sometimes pay for obscurity. This is an essential addition to any hard hat DJ's or On2 dancers collection, get it while it's available!
